Jagran correspondent, Mawana. A soldier riding a Bullet and his friend died in an accident in front of Spring Dales Public School on Tuesday morning near Rafan intersection on Rath Road. While overtaking the roadways bus, a speeding truck laden with sugarcane crushed the Bullet riders.

He dragged them for 25 metres. Police reached the spot, took out both the bodies from under the truck and sent them to the mortuary. After the accident, the accused driver left the truck on the spot and ran away. Due to this, traffic was disrupted for an hour.

30 year old soldier Shivam Choudhary, son of Rajveer Singh, resident of village Rukanpur Bahmanshora, Bijnor district, Chandpur, was going to Meerut on Tuesday morning on a bullet bike with his friend 28 year old Mohit alias Bhure, son of Omraj. He crossed Mawana town and reached near village Rafan intersection on Meerut Road at around 11.15. Then he tried to overtake the roadways bus in front of Spring Dales Public School.

Meanwhile, a truck laden with sugarcane coming from the front hit Bullet from the front. In this, both the bike riders went far and fell. The truck driver dragged both of them for about 25 metres. Both of them died on the spot. Shivam Choudhary was driving Bullet and his partner was sitting behind.

After the accident, the road was blocked due to a long queue of vehicles. On information, police station in-charge Inspector Poonam Jadaun and Inspector Satendra Kumar reached the spot. Both the bodies trapped in the truck were taken out. The truck and bullet have been taken into custody by the police.

Traffic remained blocked for about an hour after the accident. Meanwhile CO Pankaj Lavania also reached there. The police informed the relatives of the deceased about the incident over phone. The relatives reached the mortuary in Meerut in the afternoon. The accident report was not filed till late evening.

Even the helmet could not save the soldier's life. The soldier was wearing a helmet and the friend sitting behind the bullet was not wearing a helmet. Even the helmet could not prevent the soldier's death. Eyewitnesses said that the speed of Bullet was also normal but as soon as the speed was increased to overtake the bus, a truck came from the front. His speed was fast. Due to this reason, even the driver of the truck could not apply brakes and dragged both the riders along with Bullet, trampling them.

There was an uproar among the relatives on the information, they ran towards the mortuary. Shivam was the youngest among Rajveer Chaudhary's two sons and one daughter. He worked hard in a little farming, educated his children and got married. Shivam married Megha, a resident of Bijnor, many years after joining the Jat Regiment.

Megha lives in her in-laws house with her mother-in-law Rajbala and father-in-law. When relatives got information about the accident, there was chaos. The relatives ran towards Meerut mortuary. Meanwhile, sister Swati reached the mortuary in the afternoon with her husband Savendra Choudhary, resident of Dhanaura Mandi. Shivam Chaudhary was in the Jat regiment. He was posted on the China border in Arunachal Pradesh and had come on thirty days leave on Monday.

An uncontrollable truck laden with sugarcane hit the bullet-riding soldier Shivam and his friend, resident of Chandpur, and dragged him for several meters. In which both of them died. The police informed the relatives and sent the bodies to the mortuary house. Where the dead bodies were handed over to the relatives late in the evening.
