Jagran correspondent, Meerut. After running a speeding car over the on-duty sub-inspector and constable, the canteen operator and his brother had a scuffle with the police in the police station. Police registered a case of murderous assault and obstruction of government work. One was sent to jail while the other got bail.
Inspector Shivam Mishra and constable Gaurav Kumar posted at Kharkhoda police station were doing duty at the intersection in the town at 6 pm on Wednesday. During this time an I-20 car came at high speed. Shivang Tyagi was driving the car. When the policemen signaled to stop the car, Shivang increased the speed of the car. The inspector stood in front of the car. Even after that, Shivang did not stop the car, but went ahead, running over the inspector's feet.
The soldier laid siege
The constable surrounded the car and captured it. The sub-inspector and constable brought the car and driver to the police station. Shivang's brother Madhav Tyagi also reached there. Both the brothers had a scuffle with the policemen in the police station itself. Both the brothers were put in jail.
After that, a case was registered against both the brothers on behalf of Inspector Shivam. Inspector Rajpal Singh said that the car was seized. Both were presented in the court from where Shivang was sent to jail. Madhav got bail.
