In Munidih, A Car Rider Was Kidnapped And Robbed, Brutally Beaten And Then Dumped, Thinking He Was Dead.

Communication Assistant, Putki (Dhanbad). A sensational incident has come to light in Munidih OP area. The miscreants beat up a person traveling in a car, kidnapped him, looted cash and a gold chain, threatened to kill him and left him dead in a deserted field and ran away.

The victim Kishore Kumar Mahato (59), father Manny Lal Mahato, resident of Aralgadiya Basti, Police Station Putki, told in the application given in Munidih OP that on January 24 at around 8.20 pm, he was going alone to Munidih for some work in his Brezza car (number JH10AC-3053).

Meanwhile, an Apache bike (number JH01FG-2134) hit his car from behind near the railway bridge in front of Dhobni Basti.

Forced to sit in the back seat of the car

After getting down from the car, bike rider Manjeet Kumar Mahato and his father Ravi Mahato started abusing and beating him. Meanwhile, three more youths reached the spot on another bike. The five accused together forcibly made him sit in the back seat of the car.

It is alleged that Jairam Mahato, father late Bhoju Mahato, resident of Garbhudih (Munidih OP) started driving the car, while the other accused kept beating him continuously.

After this, the accused took the car to a deserted ground and stopped them, where they beat them mercilessly with kicks and punches. A gold chain worth about one and a half rupees was snatched from the victim's neck, while Rs 4,350 in cash was also taken out from his pant pocket. The accused also threatened to take him to Bathinda Falls and kill him.

When the noise was raised, the accused beat him again, due to which Kishore Kumar Mahato became unconscious. Thinking that the miscreants were dead, both of them fled on the bike, leaving them on the spot. When he regained consciousness, he found himself in the field in front of DAV Munidih School.

Luckily, his mobile phone was found lying on the dashboard of the car, through which he informed his son Ravikant Mahato. After this the family members reached the spot and he was taken to Munidih OP.

On the basis of the application of the victim, the case has been registered in Munidih OP. Police have started investigation in the matter by registering case number 10/2026 under sections 115(2), 117(2), 109, 126(2), 140, 305 and 3(5) of BNS. The named accused include Manjeet Kumar Mahato and Jairam Mahato, while one accused is said to be unknown.
