Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. The case of fake attendance scam in MNREGA (now VB Jeeramji) is not stopping. The game of illegal withdrawal of government funds is going on continuously. Now a similar case has come to light in Chitrauli and Balaur Dih of Kudhani block.
In Chitrauli, the work of drain pumping is being done under MNREGA. In this, not only the attendance of 10 laborers was made by taking photographs from different angles and uploading them on the portal, but more than one lakh rupees were also withdrawn. Similarly, work of building a check dam is being done in Balaur Dih Panchayat. Here the attendance of 10 laborers was made by uploading their photographs in different ways and more than Rs 50 thousand was withdrawn.
The matter reached the notice of District Program Officer Amit Kumar. He has started investigation. Both the schemes have been investigated and the report has been given immediately so that action can be taken against the culprits on this basis. It was told that after examining the photographs on the portal, it was found that changed photographs of 10 laborers had been uploaded. The work of the scheme has also not been completed.
Explanation from Block Program Officer and Employment Servant
In another case of fraud in attendance in Aurai and Kudhni, clarification has been sought from the Block Program Officer of Aurai and the Panchayat Employment Servant of Kudhni. He said that a team has been formed at the district level to investigate the schemes and detect fraud, which is visiting the Panchayats and monitoring the schemes. Clarification has been asked only after it was brought to the notice of the committee.
Complaint to DM about fraud in Mushari
In many Panchayats of Mushahari block also, funds are being withdrawn illegally by creating fake attendance of labourers. Villager Mukesh Manjhi and others have complained about this to the DM on Thursday. Told that the game of extorting money is also going on in the Panchayat in the name of the laborers who are working elsewhere. The local public representative has also been accused in this.
