The accused is in the custody of Phase-3 Kotwali police.
Jagran correspondent, Noida. A case has come to light of the driver abusing a girl student who was going to Ghaziabad after booking a cab from a coaching center in Sector-68 in a moving vehicle. It is alleged that when she protested against taking the vehicle in the wrong direction, the accused driver pacified the student by threatening her.
Fearing some untoward incident, the student jumped from the moving vehicle and raised an alarm to save her life. Phase-3 police station has arrested the accused driver on the complaint of his brother.
The student of New Kot village of Sihani Gate police station area studies in the coaching center of Sector 68. The student had booked a cab to go to Ghaziabad at 11:40 pm on 30th November. Driver Saurabh, who arrived with WagonR cab, made the student sit and asked for OTP. Meanwhile she was alone.
The driver deviated from the map location
The student alleges that the driver went beyond the map's location and went ahead through another cut. Seeing her going on the wrong path, the student protested and the accused started arguing. There was a lot of altercation between the two in the moving vehicle. When the matter did not subside, the accused pacified the victim by threatening her.
When the student showed courage and started making a video of the moving vehicle on her mobile, an attempt was made to snatch her phone. Fearing some untoward incident, the student saved her life by jumping from the moving vehicle on the roadside. When the noise was raised, the driver ran away with the car. He also sustained injuries on his body after falling on the road.
Scared by the incident, the student immediately informed her relatives. The police also immediately started searching for the accused after receiving the information. Police also registered a case after receiving the complaint. Phase-3 police station in-charge says that on the basis of CCTV footage and booking details of the student, cab driver Saurabh Kumar of Raghupur Amritpur located in Dashrathpur police station of Etah district has been arrested. After interrogation, action was taken against him.
