Digital Desk, New Delhi. Union Social Justice Minister Virendra Kumar told the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that in the financial year 2024-25, loans worth Rs 1,389.61 crore were given to 1.39 lakh entrepreneurs through the PM Suraj Portal, while the target was to provide benefits to one lakh entrepreneurs.
According to the minister, these loans were provided through the portal by National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC), National Safai Karmachari Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC), National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC).
The Minister said that Pradhan Mantri Social Upliftment and Employment Based Public Welfare (PM-SURJ) is an integrated portal, which aims to promote economic empowerment of people belonging to Scheduled Castes, Sanitation Workers, and Backward Classes.
