Big success of Jal Jeevan Mission in Uttar Pradesh

Digital Desk, Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh has achieved historic success in rural drinking water system by setting a new record under Jal Jeevan Mission. So far, 26,564 villages in the state have been certified as “Har Ghar Jal” by the Gram Panchayat, while about 2.5 crore rural families have been provided Functional Home Tap Connection (FHTC). This achievement is not only a proof of improvement in the quality of rural life, but is also being considered a big step of the government towards women empowerment and environmental protection.

Both environment and pocket benefit from solar model

Yogi government has given priority to solar energy based model to make drinking water schemes long term and affordable. At present, 80 percent of rural piped drinking water schemes of Uttar Pradesh are based on green energy.

Till now, more than 33 thousand schemes are running on solar energy, due to which huge electricity expenses are being saved.

These solar based schemes are reducing the emissions of about 13 lakh metric tons of carbon dioxide every year, which is a big victory in terms of environmental protection.

Union Secretary praised UP's 'automation model'

Recently, Central Government Secretary Ashok Kumar Meena conducted an on-site inspection of Chand Sarai Rural Drinking Water Supply Scheme located in Gosaiganj, Lucknow. He described the technical efficiency and automation system of the scheme as 'excellent and ideal'. The scheme, costing ₹260.95 lakh, includes a 17.50 KW solar plant and a 6 km long distribution system, directly benefiting 486 families.

New basis of health and empowerment

The most positive impact of providing tap water to every home has been on the lives of women and children, who are now freed from the difficulty of carrying water from miles away. Along with this, due to the availability of clean drinking water, effective reduction in water-borne diseases is also being recorded in rural areas. At present, work on piped drinking water schemes is going on war footing in more than 97 thousand villages, due to which the goal of 'Har Ghar Jal' will soon be realized in the remaining areas also.

Chyawanprash is a part of every Indian's life, it reduces diseases and increases energy.
