Railways has released the fixed fare list for this train, eliminating the hassle of waiting and RAC. The country's first Vande Bharat sleeper train will have 16 coaches.
According to the Railway Ministry, Prime Minister Narendra Modi can flag off the first Vande Bharat sleeper train on January 17. The first route will be from Howrah (Kolkata) to Guwahati (Kamakhya) which will connect North-East and Eastern India and provide fast, convenient connectivity.
There will be quota for women, disabled seniors and railway employees. Like other trains, there will be quota for women, disabled people and senior citizens in Vande Bharat Sleeper train.
Besides, there will also be duty pass quota for railway employees. The train will be equipped with facilities like emergency talk-back, CCTV and modern sanitation technology. In case of ticket cancellation, digital payment will be given priority to initiate the refund process within 24 hours. Instructions have been given to promote digital payment in window ticket cases also.
Howrah to Kamakhya Chhard AC fare Rs 2,299
Talking about fare, this train will be slightly more expensive than Rajdhani Express. However, the fare of Third AC has been kept lower than Rajdhani. The fare from Howrah to Kamakhya in Third AC class in Vande Bharat Sleeper has been fixed at Rs 2,299.
At the same time, fare from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri will be Rs 1,334 and from Howrah to Malda Town will be Rs 960. The fare from Howrah to Kamakhya in second AC class will be Rs 2,970. In the same category, the fare has been fixed at Rs 1,724 for Howrah to New Jalpaiguri and Rs 1,240 for Howrah to Malda Town.
In First AC class, the fare from Howrah to Kamakhya will be Rs 3,640, while from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri you will have to pay Rs 2,113 and from Howrah to Malda Town you will have to pay Rs 1,520.
The fare between Kamakhya and Malda Town has been fixed at Rs 1,522 in third AC class, Rs 1965 in second AC class and Rs 2,409 in first AC class.
At the same time, between Kamakhya and New Jalpaiguri, the fare for third air-conditioned class will be Rs 962, for second air-conditioned class it will be Rs 1243 and for first air-conditioned class it will be Rs 1524.
Apart from this, passengers will also have to pay five percent GST on the ticket. The minimum distance for determining fare in this premium Vande Bharat Sleeper train of Indian Railways has been fixed at 400 kilometers.
