Divisional Commissioner and District Magistrate hoisted the flag on Republic Day in Varanasi and called for nation building.

On the occasion of Republic Day, Divisional Commissioner S Rajalingam started the program by hoisting the flag at the Camp Office and Commissionerate and District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar started the program by hoisting the flag at the Rifle Club and Camp Office located at the Collectorate. During this, he greeted the officers, employees and citizens present on Republic Day.
After the flag hoisting, the national anthem was sung. Officers-employees of various departments and distinguished citizens were present in the program. In their address, Divisional Commissioner and District Magistrate called for imbibing the values of the Constitution and contributing to nation building. Everyone was also administered the oath by the officials on the Preamble mentioned in the Constitution.
The Divisional Commissioner paid tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters and emphasized the role of all citizens in strengthening democracy. The Divisional Commissioner underlined the role of fighters in the freedom movement during the British rule, Gandhiji's Salt Satyagraha and reminded the country about its independence, constitution making and civic duties. He inspired the adoption of the Constitution and also made the coming generations aware of the significance of the Constitution.
A lot of sacrifices have been made in the building of the country in 200 years. Underlining the increasing influence of social media, he asked to be cautious of unverified information. Misinformation is continuously being spread in the society through social media, due to which everyone is asked to be cautious and the new generation is asked to avoid its ill effects. In the end, once again he wished everyone a very happy Republic Day.
After the flag hoisting in the Collectorate on the occasion of Republic Day, the District Magistrate administered oath to everyone on the preamble mentioned in the Constitution and distributed gifts to the girls and dependents of freedom fighters. Thereafter, the District Magistrate also planted trees in the Collectorate premises.
