Digital Desk, Bhopal. Corruption in the incentive schemes of the state government is not showing any signs of stopping. The team of Lokayukta Police Bhopal on Tuesday evening arrested Assistant Grade-II Manoj Soni, posted in the Tribal Affairs Department, Collectorate in Narmadapuram, red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The accused Babu had demanded 50 percent commission from a beneficiary in exchange for the amount of Rs 2 lakh to be given under the Inter-Caste Marriage Promotion Scheme. The deal was fixed to take Rs 20 thousand from the beneficiary first and Rs 70 thousand after the completion of the work. Later, Rs 10,000 was agreed upon as the first installment.

Beneficiary Praveen Solanki, 36, resident of Sipur, Sivanimalwa, had complained about demanding bribe to the Lokayukta Bhopal SP office. After verification of the complaint, a Lokayukta team was formed and a trap was laid to arrest the accused Babu. As per the planned plan, as soon as the complainant reached the office of the accused clerk on Tuesday evening and handed him the bribe amount, the Lokayukta team caught him on the spot.
In this action, Lokayukta team included DSP BM Dwivedi, DSP Ajay Mishra, Inspector Rajni Tiwari, Head Constable Ramdas Kurmi, Head Constable Mukesh Patel, Constable Mukesh Parmar, Constable Chaitanya Pratap Singh and Gaurav Sahu. The incident has once again exposed the corruption prevalent in government schemes.
