Washington Sundar got injured during New Zealand's innings. After bowling his fifth over, Sundar had to leave the field. Sundar bowled only five overs, in which he gave 27 runs. After this, he also came to bat at number eight. Before him, the management sent Harshit Rana to bat.
Sundar was seen in pain even while batting. He was finding it difficult to take 1-1 runs. However, he fully supported KL Rahul and did not let any wicket fall. Virat missed a century
Talking about the match, thanks to the half-centuries of Daryl Mitchell (84), Henry Nicholls (62) and Devon Conway (56), New Zealand scored 300 runs after losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. In reply, India won the first ODI thanks to half-centuries from Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill. Kohli played an inning of 93 runs in 91 balls. Whereas Gill contributed 56 runs on 71 balls and Shreyas Iyer contributed 49 runs on 47 balls.
