Akshar Patel out of last two T20 matches

Sports Desk, New Delhi: The Indian cricket team has suffered a big setback before the last two matches of the five-match T20 series being played against South Africa. The team's star all-rounder Akshar Patel is out of the series. Akshar did not play even in the third T20. The Senior Selection Committee of BCCI has also announced his replacement. BCCI has given this information on Monday.

Akshar Patel has been ruled out of the team for the last two matches of the ongoing T-20 series against South Africa due to ill health. However, he will remain with the team in the fourth match of the series to be held in Lucknow, where he will be provided necessary medical facilities.

This player got the place

The selection committee has given place to Shahbaz Ahmed in the team for both the matches of this series to be played in Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Shahbaz is also a left arm spinner all-rounder like Akshar. He has got a chance after a long time. He played his last T20 match for India against Afghanistan in the Asian Games on October 7, 2023. He has played three ODIs and two T20 matches for India. He has taken three wickets in ODI and two wickets in T20.

Akshar played the first two matches of the series. He bowled brilliantly in Cuttack and took two wickets for seven runs. He had contributed 23 runs with the bat. In the second T20 played in Chandigarh, he took one wicket and scored 21 runs.
