Digital Desk, New Delhi. Yesterday on Sunday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented Budget 2026 in the Lok Sabha. Now there is going to be a general discussion on this in Parliament on Monday. The discussion is part of the ongoing budget session and will be followed by detailed debate and voting on the demands for grants.

The statement given in conversation with journalists after the presentation of the budget has indicated that Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi can speak in the House. As per parliamentary procedure, members will later debate the broad framework of the budget during the general discussion before ministry-wise scrutiny.

What did Rahul Gandhi say?

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Sunday refused to comment on the Union Budget outside Parliament and said he would present his views in the House. When asked by journalists what he thinks about the budget? So Rahul Gandhi said, "I will put my point on the table of Parliament tomorrow."

The Congress leader was also accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi. Both left the Parliament complex without answering further questions from the media. Later, the Congress MP took to social media platform X to list the main concerns which he said the budget failed to address.

'Ignorant of India's real troubles'

He wrote in the post, "Youth are out of jobs. Manufacturing is declining. Investors are withdrawing capital. Household savings are falling rapidly. Farmers are distressed. Oncoming global shocks - all this is ignored. A budget that refuses to reform is oblivious to India's real crises."
