Dense Fog In Delhi NCR, Thunderstorm And Rain Alert In 10 States, IMD Issues Warning; Impact On Flights

Digital Desk, New Delhi. It is extremely cold even in the month of February. Many states including the country's capital Delhi have been covered in dense fog, due to which visibility has reduced significantly.

Delhi Airport has issued a warning to passengers due to delay in flights due to fog. Visibility has dropped to less than 50 meters in many parts, affecting movement on main roads and highways.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain along with storm today. There may be rain in seven states of North India today, Monday, February 2.

Rain alert in 10 states

According to IMD's estimate, there may be rain in 10 states today, due to which people may have to bear the brunt of the cold.

There is a possibility of rain in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Haryana, East Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

Winds can blow at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of storm and heavy rain here. There may be heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, East Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Air travel affected due to fog

Delhi Airport said, due to poor visibility, flight operations are being conducted in CAT III conditions, which may cause delay in incoming and outgoing flights.

Information was given by Delhi Airport on social media platform X at 6 am that 'Passengers are requested to contact their respective airlines for latest flight information or visit our official website. Please be assured that our on-ground executives are available at all terminals to provide any assistance necessary.
