Tourists taking ski training at Nandadevi Skiing Slope in Auli. Awakening

Communication partner, Gopeshwar. The beauty of the world famous tourist destination Auli cannot be expressed in words. Its snowy slopes have automatic slopes for skiing, not at one place but at many places. However, apart from India's only world class Nandadevi slope, Auli also has a skiing slope for competitions near the old number 10 tower.

Apart from the world class skiing slope, Auli also has another slope on which skiing competitions are organised. There is an old skiing slope near number 10 tower. On which skiing has been going on since the times of Uttar Pradesh. However, the Nanda Devi slope was built during the Winter Safe Games in 2011.

The south facing Nandadevi slope is 1350 meters long and 40 meters wide. This slope has the facility of ski lift and chair lift for the players to reach the start point. The special thing is that this ski slope also has a snowgun machine installed to provide artificial snowfall. However, this snowgun machine is currently out of order.

International slope recognition extended for 10 years

The 2011 South Asian Games were held on this slope, recognized by the Federation of International Skiing. This slope was approved by FISC for 10 years. However, after inspection by FIS experts, in 2019, the recognition of this international slope was again extended for 10 years. The special thing is that this is the only internationally recognized slope in India.

Although there are slopes for skiing everywhere in Auli, but the old skiing slope of Auli is also present near the number 10 tower. Since the time of Uttar Pradesh, many national games have been organized on this spot for a decade in Uttarakhand. This slope is approximately one kilometer long and the width is more than 40 meters. This slope is completely fit for organizing the National Games. Gaurson Bugyal, three km away from Auli, is completely decorated for skiing competitions. There are natural slopes for skiing competitions everywhere in Gaurs. National Games have been held here once due to lack of snow in Auli, although one has to walk three kilometers to reach Gaurson. An action plan is proposed to extend the Tourism Department ropeway up to Gaurson.

If facilities are developed till Gaurs, then competitions can easily be held here along with world class skiing training. India's ski coach Ajay Bhatt says the Gaurs have natural slopes for winter sports. National Games have been organized here once. Said that in Auli too, apart from Nanda Devi slope, there is an old slope near tower number 10. On which competition is organized. Last year, national skiing competitions were organized on this slope.
