Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. The speed of trains has derailed in the fog. Superfast Gorakhdham Express is also running on Delhi-Gorakhpur railway line. Morning express trains are also reaching Gorakhpur at night. Trains are running late by one to 15 hours. Hungry and thirsty travelers are facing problems on the way. Passengers waiting for trains at railway stations are forced to shiver in the cold.
As visibility reduces in fog, the speed of trains automatically reduces. Railway administration is giving priority to safety along with safety. The railway administration itself has controlled the speed of trains in fog. Trains fitted with fog safe device are running at a maximum speed of 75 km per hour and trains without fog safe device are running at a maximum speed of 60 km per hour.
Apart from this, mandatory compliance with safety standards is being ensured. Necessary guidelines along with counseling have been given to loco pilots, train managers and station superintendents for uninterrupted train operation even during fog.
