Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. Passengers will know 12 hours in advance whether their seats in trains are confirmed or their names are still in waiting list. With this, there will be no confusion. Passengers will not have to wander here and there if the seat is reserved. Railways will implement this system soon. At present its trial has been started. There has also been success in this.
Railways will conduct a survey among the passengers regarding this arrangement and will take their feedback. A proposal will be made and sent to the Railway Board, after getting consent from there, this system will be implemented first in premium trains and then in other trains.
Reservation charts were prepared and posted four hours before the departure of trains. This caused problems to passengers coming from nearby towns and cities to board a train at a station. After four months this arrangement was reduced to eight hours. Now preparations have been started to make it 12 hours. For this, a trial was conducted to prepare the reservation chart of Prayagraj Express running from Prayagraj to New Delhi 12 hours in advance.
According to railway officials, the passengers appreciated it a lot. He said that with this arrangement there was no confusion regarding getting a seat in the train. Passengers have also advised to implement this system in other trains. With this arrangement, it will be easier for the passengers whose names are in the waiting list to choose their option for travel. They will know in advance that their seat is not reserved.
Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway, Shashikant Tripathi said that currently this system has been implemented only in Prayagraj Express as a pilot project. After taking feedback from passengers, the proposal will be sent to the Railway Board. After receiving orders from there, it will be implemented in other premium trains also.
