Elderly cheated by digital arrest (symbolic picture)
Digital Desk, Indore. Iber criminals have defrauded a retired deputy manager of State Bank of India (SBI) of Rs 5 lakh. Under the threat of sending him to jail in the Jet Airways case and money laundering case, he interrogated him over video call for five days and then asked for verification of bank accounts. During this time, Rs 5 lakh was transferred from the victim. After this he asked for Rs 41 lakh more. The victimized elderly also reached the bank to withdraw money, but the son saved them.
Showed involvement in Jet Airways case
According to the police, a call had come on the victim's mobile from an unknown number on November 17. The swindler first sent three-four photographs of Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal. Later he made a WhatsApp call and said that Naresh is an accused in the ED investigation. He has confessed your name during interrogation. You, along with him, have committed money laundering of Rs 20 crore. An account has also been opened in your name in Canara Bank, Mumbai. Your arrest warrant has been issued, the police is coming to arrest you.

In this way, the thugs, posing as officers of different investigating agencies, kept interrogating them for five days. He was also threatened not to tell or discuss anything about this to anyone.
Bank officers became suspicious
After taking Rs 5 lakh, the thugs asked for Rs 41 lakh more and the victim, a retired manager, reached the bank. When the officers there became suspicious, they informed his son. The son immediately got the money held and after interrogating the father, lodged a complaint on Cyber Helpline-1930 and got the bank accounts of the accused frozen.
