Accident due to overturning of mixer machine in Garhpura. photo awakening
Samvad Sutra, Garhpura (Begusarai). The last day of the year proved to be very sad for the area. On Wednesday morning around 8 o'clock, Mayank Kumar, 10 year old son of Rajeev Mahato, resident of Korai Ward 5, died, while his 13 year old elder brother Prabhat Kumar was seriously injured.
The accident happened when the mixer machine installed in the tractor overturned and both the brothers got buried under it. After the incident, the driver fled with the engine of the tractor, however the villagers caught the tractor near Ekamba turn.
According to the information, Mayank and Prabhat were returning home in the morning after studying tuition from Sujanpur on the same bicycle. Near Imli Pokhar, the mixer machine fitted in a speeding tractor from Malipur became unbalanced and overturned. Mayank died on the spot in the accident, while Prabhat was seriously injured. Both were brought to PHC Garhpura, from where Prabhat was referred to Begusarai. He is undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
Angered by the incident, the villagers placed the dead body on the road and blocked it around 11 o'clock in the day. Due to this, traffic on Begusarai, Bakhri, Hasanpur and Rosra road was affected. BDO Vikas Kumar and police station chief Rahul Kumar, who reached the spot after receiving information, ended the jam after about two and a half hours by assuring compensation.
Under the Chief Minister Family Benefit Scheme, his father was given assistance of Rs 20 thousand. Mayank was a student of class five in primary school Korai, while Prabhat is a student of class seven. The police of Garhpura police station have started investigating the case by sending the body for post-mortem. Bakhri MLA cum Sugarcane Minister Sanjay Kumar met the victim's family and consoled them.
