In this auction, which will start at 2:30 pm, famous players from India and abroad will be in the eyes of the franchises and every team will try to make the best deal as per their need.

This mini auction is very important for the teams before the 19th season of IPL starting from 31 March 2026. The fate of around 369 players in the auction will be made or broken by the blow of the hammer. Out of these, only 77 will be those lucky players who will get a place in some team or the other for IPL 2026.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has a huge purse of Rs 64.3 crore in the mini auction. It is believed that KKR can decide the direction of today's bid to a great extent. At the same time, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) can also try their hands on many big players with Rs 43.4 crore.

Ahead of the TATA IPL 2026 auction, the Auction War Room on JioHotstar gave a glimpse of how teams can prepare their squads in the mini auction. This mock auction simulation featured team strategy, purse management and squads, with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) getting the most attention.

Cameron Green emerged as the biggest buy in the mock auction, which was bought by KKR with a bid of Rs 30.5 crore. Whereas CSK adopted a more balanced strategy.

Jio Star expert Robin Uthappa said that CSK will be looking for a middle-order all-rounder, but they will be cautious in the actual auction. He estimated that the team would limit its expenditure to around Rs 20 crore.

However, in the mock auction, Uthappa said that he also considered increasing the budget significantly to Rs 35 crore, especially for Cameron Green, who according to him is best suited to bat at No. 3.
