Reuters, Dubai. Iran's parliament has warned the country's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to wage jihad if anything happens. Parliament on Tuesday warned that if any attack is made on the country's supreme leader, it will result in jihad.
This threat has been given at a time when US President Donald Trump had warned several times about the action of security forces against protesters in Iran. Due to this, tension between the two countries has increased.
Iranian Students' News Agency on Tuesday quoted Iran's National Security Committee as saying that any attack on the supreme leader would be tantamount to a declaration of war with the Islamic world and a declaration of jihad.
According to AP, demonstrations against inflation and economic distress are still continuing in Iran. So far, more than five thousand people have lost their lives in these anti-government protests. The protests that broke out in the country since December 28 are being dealt with strictly.

Davos invitation withdrawn for Iran: According to AP, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was to address the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, but the invitation has been withdrawn due to the killings of people in the ongoing demonstrations in the country.
"They were invited, but given the tragic deaths of civilians in Iran over the past few weeks, it is not appropriate to represent the Iranian government at Davos," the World Economic Forum said. While Aragchi condemned the decision and said, 'My attendance at Davos was canceled due to false and political pressure from Israel and America.'
