Jagran correspondent, Patna City. There is jam all the time on Kangan Ghat road adjacent to Chowk police station. The wheels of vehicles coming at high speed from JP Ganga Path are stopping here. Along with other vehicles, ambulances are also getting stuck in the traffic jams in the morning, afternoon, evening and night. The problems of the patients traveling on this are increasing.
Devotees and tourists from India and abroad visiting the world's second largest Takht Shri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, located a few steps away from the police station, are also getting troubled by getting stuck in this traffic jam. The jam is being aggravated due to illegal parking of vehicles on both sides of this road. There is no traffic police deployed here to control the vehicles. Chowk police station sometimes not only keeps an eye on the traffic system but also issues challans for illegal parking.
At the intersection of Ashok Rajpath, a few steps away from Chowk Police Station, the traffic jam on Kangan Ghat Road is becoming serious due to vehicles going towards JP Ganga Path. Due to the stopping of vehicles coming from east and west on Ashok Rajpath near this intersection, there is traffic jam on this main road all the time. Due to the narrowness of the road here, the jam becomes serious when buses, trucks and other four-wheelers move towards Ashok Rajpath and GP Ganga Path at this intersection.
The queue of vehicles stuck in the jam is reaching Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Chamdoriya turn. To avoid this jam, two-wheeler drivers are forced to travel through Madrasa Gali, Shri Guru Gobind Singh College Marg, Bada Gali, Harimandir Gali, in front of Patal Ka Mahadev Temple, Jhauganj Gali and other alternative routes.
Local citizens and businessmen are demanding permanent deployment of traffic police at the intersection and stopping illegal parking of vehicles on the road on Kangan Ghat road. This route gets immersed in darkness from evening onwards. Citizens have requested the Municipal Corporation and the administration to install street lights on the roadside. The solar light installed has been lying dead for many years.
