Jagran correspondent, Agra. Thieves broke the locks of the confectioner's house and stole jewelery worth Rs 5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh on Thursday night. The family had gone to attend a wedding ceremony. Upon returning, information about the theft came to light. A thief has been seen in the CCTV camera installed in a neighboring house. New Agra Police is busy searching for the thieves.

Sarju Baghel, living in Vidya Nagar of Nagla Padi, is a confectioner. On Thursday he had gone to work at a wedding ceremony organized in Jaipur. Wife Ruma Devi had gone with the children to attend the wedding ceremony organized at the marriage home in Tedhi Bagiya. Thieves targeted the house at night.

Sarju told that when he reached home with his wife and children at 4 am on Friday, he found the lock broken. The cupboard was lying open and the stuff was scattered. Apart from the chain, ring, earrings and mangalsutra kept in the cupboard, one lakh rupees were missing. Sarju told that the wife had gone to the wedding ceremony alone, that is why she did not take the jewellery.

He has also taken a shop on rent on Mau Road. One lakh rupees were kept at home to buy shop goods, which the thieves took away. On information, New Agra Police reached the spot and investigated. Inspector New Agra Rajeev Tyagi said that a thief has been seen in the footage of the CCTV camera installed in the neighboring house. Action will be taken after investigation.
