Villagers attack the young man who abducted the girl (Photo-X)
Jagran correspondent, Jodhpur. On Friday, villagers attacked a young man accused of abducting a girl in Luni area of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, broke his arms and legs and cut off his nose with a sharp weapon. They also beat up and broke the vehicle, after which the attackers ran away.
The young man has been admitted to the hospital in a bloody condition. Assistant Police Commissioner (Boranada) Anandsingh Rajpurohit said that the victim Dinesh Bishnoi had abducted a girl from the neighboring village eight days ago. Due to pressure from police and villagers, he released the girl on Thursday.
Dinesh reached the village by car on Friday afternoon. At the same time the villagers attacked him. Due to being beaten badly, his hands and legs were fractured. The angry villagers also cut off his nose with a sharp weapon.
Police officer Suresh Chaudhary said that a missing complaint was filed against injured Dinesh on December 26 for luring the girl away. After police pressure, the girl reached the police station on Thursday evening.
Earlier, Dinesh was arrested under NDPS Act. He absconded after being released on parole. He is also an accused under the POCSO Act and was not appearing in the court after being released on bail.
