Jagran correspondent, Orai. The District Magistrate has suspended two accountants for wrongly verifying the jowar crop at the open procurement center in the market of Tehsil Madhogarh. Besides, action has also been recommended against the purchase center in-charge. On receiving information from the video circulating on the internet media, the District Magistrate took cognizance and conducted an investigation and the truth came out.

More jowar than was produced in the district was reaching the purchasing centres. Whereas the farmers of the district were continuously complaining about non-purchase. The negligence of the accountant was revealed in the investigation. In which it was revealed that there was not much production of jowar and the sale of jowar was going on continuously at the centres.

To ensure that farmers get fair prices for their crop production, the government purchases crops from purchasing agencies at fixed support prices. This time too, centers have been opened for the purchase of jowar and millet. The target of procurement in the district has been set at 6500 metric tons. Farmers are also selling jowar and millet crops.

When government purchases get good prices, middlemen and traders become active to take profits. So that they can earn good profits. In view of such cases, this time the farmers' crops are also being verified. Some similar irregularities came to light at the center in Madhaugarh Mandi. When the news of irregularities in the purchase of jowar became popular in the internet media, the District Magistrate immediately took cognizance and conducted an investigation and found out that the crop of two farmers had been wrongly verified.

The District Magistrate suspended accountants Yogendra Kushwaha and Brajkishore Niranjan. Along with this, the District Magistrate has given instructions to take action against the center in-charge. The District Magistrate has said that such irregularities will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
