Crowd gathered in Katki fair

Jagran correspondent, Lucknow. Even after the passage of time, Katki fair was still going on on the banks of Gomti. In this, questions have also been raised on the role of officers and employees of Municipal Corporation Zone 3. How did the officials remain unaware of such a big event?

After continuous complaints, Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar ordered a ban on the operation of the fair on Wednesday afternoon and after this the Municipal Corporation locked two gates of the Katki fair going on in Jhulelal Vatika. However, during this time there was a lot of crowd in the fair premises and people were seen enjoying the fair till evening.

Many people looked angry at not getting entry. According to law, the Municipal Corporation had to take this action at night, so that no one faces any problem.

The period of 45 days of the fair had ended on January 7 and time was given to take away the goods in four days, but even after January 7, the fair was running, whereas the Municipal Corporation had not given permission to expand the fair and the Municipal Corporation was incurring a financial loss of six lakhs every day.

Rs 36 lakh has been looted in six days. Along with a thousand shops, swings were also installed in the fair. Every day 15 to 20 thousand people were coming to visit the fair and parking fees were also being collected arbitrarily. Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar had ignored the illegal conduct of the fair.

Along with imposing fine on the firm running the fair, the role of responsible officers and employees is also being investigated. Congress councilor Mukesh Singh Chauhan says that this is a serious matter.

Even after the end of the time, the fair was going on in Jhulelal Park on the banks of river Gomti and the officers and employees of Zone 3 were sitting quietly, there is something black in it. This should be investigated and action should be taken against those responsible.
