State Bureau, Dehradun. The Tehri Lake Festival to be held in Tehri from March 6 to 9 is going to give a new identity to tourism this time. A unique confluence of adventure sports, culture, spirituality and local art will be seen in this four-day event.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate the Himalayan-Tehri Lake Festival organized under the joint aegis of the District Administration and Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council on March 6.
The main objective of the event is to establish Tehri as a major tourism center and to increase employment opportunities at the local level. Adventure activities like boating in the lake, rafting in the Ganga, trekking, mountain biking and rock climbing will be the center of attraction during the festival. There will also be cultural programs, food festivals and various competitions to promote folk culture, music and food.
The participants will also get the opportunity to see Sangam Darshan, Ganga Aarti and practice yoga in Devprayag, due to which this event will also give a new direction to spiritual tourism.

The festival will have several competitions including Master Chef, Photography, Painting, Social Media Reel, Fashion Show, Mr. and Miss Tehri and Rafting. The first winner will be given Rs 1 lakh, the second will be given Rs 50 thousand, the third will be given Rs 25 thousand and 10 participants will be given consolation prizes.
The evening will be decorated with music
There will be a food festival, fashion show and cultural programs along with the inauguration ceremony at Koti Colony. Pandawaj Band will perform on March 6 and Amit Trivedi will perform on March 7.

Mazaf-PD track and That-Khat mountain track in Pratapnagar, Basal Tal track in Ghansali, rafting from Brahmpuri to Kharasrot in Narendra Nagar and MTB ride in Dhanaulti area will be organised.
Confluence of spirituality and yoga
Along with darshan of Raghunath Temple in Devprayag, Ganga Aarti at Sangam and yoga practice, the participants will also get the opportunity to visit Vedshala.
