Dialogue thread, Guraru (Gaya). The government has given instructions to complete land acquisition for the remains and rehabilitation work of North Koel Reservoir Project. On the instructions of the government, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit has asked the concerned district administration to issue land ownership certificates to the tenants for land acquisition by December 15 and pay compensation.
Its effect is also visible now. 632 lands, including private and government lands of 20 mouzas of Guraru block, have been identified for this reservoir project.
In this, private land of 486 raiyats of Tineri, Jamlapur, Malpa, Kolheya, Bathani, Konchi, Kekhada, Mangrawan, Devkali, Serpur, Sareba, Tilori, Marha, Pahra, Gangti, Mahamadpur, Sondiha, Bhimpur, Harinarayanpur Mauza of the block is to be acquired for the reservoir project.
The administration officials are contacting the ryots daily in the concerned Mauza and informing them about the documents required for issuing the land ownership certificate of the plot that comes under the reservoir project and for receiving compensation.
Till Saturday, 357 of these tenants have been issued land ownership certificates from the zonal office of Guraru. Compensation has also started being paid to these tenants on the basis of claims from the District Land Acquisition Office. Circle Officer Nupur has given this information. He said that after measuring the marked land, lining has also been started.
However, the tenants of Sareba Mauza are reluctant to provide the documents of their land to the administration, saying that the compensation rate for the land has been underestimated.
At the same time, the Rayats, angry with the passing of North Koel Reservoir through the middle of Serpur Ahar near Diha village, are demanding to change the route of the canal of the reservoir. The tenants here are also not giving the land documents to the administration.
