Digital Desk, New Delhi. Ken has been protesting for the last 5 days in the rural construction area that is being displaced by the Vetba Link Project. Their demand is that they are not being given proper compensation and houses are not being built for them.
When Amit Bhatnagar, who was leading among the villagers protesting, was arrested under Section 170, the people present got enraged and surrounded Bijawar tehsil at around 11 pm on Tuesday night and pelted stones. As soon as the villagers reached Bijawar tehsil around 11:00 pm, the SDM arrived there and all the people surrounded the SDM. Then the police present there took over the security arrangements.
Where the uproar continued regarding the release of Amit Bhatnagar. Here the administration officials say that anyone will be released only as per the law and will not be released under anyone's pressure.
It is noteworthy that the people of three villages displaced from Dhodan Dam area are stopping the construction work. Villagers allege that SDM Bijawar had asked the displaced people of Dhodan, Palkonha, Kharyani to deposit the compensation amount in their accounts by 10 January 26 but it has not been deposited yet.
