Life Imprisonment To Three Culprits In Ram Asare Maurya Murder Case In Sonbhadra, Court Imposed Fine Of ₹ 20 Thousand

Jagran correspondent, Sonbhadra. While hearing the case of Ram Asare Maurya murder case that took place about four and a half years ago on Thursday, the court of Additional Sessions Judge I Jitendra Kumar Dwivedi found three accused Rajendra Maurya, Jaswant Maurya and Nihal guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 each. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of 4 months. The period spent in jail will be included in the sentence. The court acquitted the three accused due to lack of evidence.

अभियोजन पक्ष के मुताबिक संतोष मौर्य उर्फ भोला पुत्र स्वर्गीय राम आसरे मौर्य निवासी मगरदहा, थाना करमा, जिला सोनभद्र ने थानाध्यक्ष करमा को दी तहरीर में अवगत कराया था कि उसके गांव के राजेंद्र मौर्य व बिसहार गांव निवासी निहाल से जमीन पर पाइप बिछाने को लेकर विवाद चल रहा था।

On 29 November 2021, he along with his father and uncle's son Golu had gone to Kathpurwa for the wedding of Lalu Maurya of the village. Nihal also came to her wedding. Nihal was repeatedly inquiring from them as to when to go home. Father said that we will leave after having food.

We left for home around 9:30 pm and father was riding the bike. When we reached Bishar hill at around 10 pm, 6 people including Jaswant Maurya, Rajendra Maurya, Nihal stopped us by parking their bike in front and got into trouble. During this time, when Jaswant Maurya challenged him, he shot his father on his temple with his weapon.

Due to which father died on the spot. By the time people nearby heard the gunshot, everyone ran away on the motorcycle. The dead body is lying on the spot, take necessary action. On this complaint, the police registered an FIR and started investigating the case. During the investigation, after finding sufficient evidence, the investigator filed a charge sheet in the court.

While hearing the case, the court, after listening to the arguments of the advocates of both the parties and perusing the statements and documents of the witnesses, found three accused Rajendra Maurya, Jaswant Maurya and Nihal guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 each on them. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of 4 months. The period spent in jail will be included in the sentence. The court acquitted the three accused due to lack of evidence. Government lawyer Vinod Kumar Pathak argued on behalf of the prosecution.
