Life imprisonment to three in the case of murder of head constable.

The court of Additional Sessions Judge Barinder Singh Ramana has sentenced three convicts to life imprisonment in the case of murder of Head Constable Sukhwinder Singh, resident of village Hole, Sadar Khanna, due to rivalry. The culprits have been identified as Gurpinder Singh, his brother Avtar Singh and Jagwinder Singh (son of Avtar Singh).
The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 1.55 lakh on each. Apart from this, the court also convicted him of murderous attack on the deceased's cousin Satwinder Singh. Satwinder Singh tried to save Sukhwinder Singh, but could not stop the fatal attack.
The court also convicted two other relatives of the accused, Jaswinder Kaur and Harjeet Kaur, of destroying evidence after the murder. He was sentenced to two years' imprisonment. A case was registered against the culprits on 28 October 2022 at Sadar Police Station Khanna. The incident took place on the night of 27 October 2022.
Sukhwinder Singh had called his cousin Satwinder Singh at around 9 pm and asked him to meet him near the grocery shop of the village. When he reached near Gurpinder Singh's house, he saw that the accused had surrounded Sukhwinder Singh. After this, all the accused attacked Sukhwinder Singh with swords and hit him several times on his head, due to which he died during treatment.
