All this will be possible online from the computer of the concerned office of the electricity department. Genus Company is getting the work of installing smart meters in the district. However the speed is very slow.
From December 2023, Genus Company started the work of installing smart meters in the district. So far only about 19,991 meters have been installed. 18 teams are working. The work of installing smart meters at the homes and establishments of 2,10,196 consumers of Auraiya and Dibiyapur divisions is to be completed by 2026.
It is also possible to implement a recharge system in the meter after the work is completed. The more you recharge, the more you will be able to consume electricity. No amount of tricks by the defaulters will work. Electricity in the houses of big defaulters can go off at any time.
Whatever smart meters are installed now. If the defaulter does not pay the electricity bill, his connection to the online computer will be disconnected. He will not be able to use electricity.
Executive Engineer Meter Santosh Kumar said that now only smart meters will be installed on new connections. All consumers should develop the habit of making regular payments. Defaulters will not be able to use electricity through smart meters.
