Jagran correspondent, Siwan. Acting on a tip-off, the Excise Department team recovered a truck carrying liquor from Jalandhar in Punjab near Teetra in Jiradei and arrested two smugglers. A sack of lye was kept on top of the liquor in the truck.

The liquor was well hidden inside the lye. The arrested smugglers are Salim Khan, son of Bahadur Khan and Mool Singh, son of Khuman Singh, residents of Mangata village of Basera police station area of ​​Barmer district of Rajasthan. After interrogating both of them, the police sent them to jail. His whereabouts are being investigated at other places.

Product Superintendent Vipin Kumar said that Sadar Police Station Head cum Inspector Ankesh Kumar had received secret information on Friday morning that a consignment of illicit liquor from Jalandhar in Punjab was being sent through trucks to other districts of Bihar including Siwan.

As soon as the information was received, the excise inspector started an intensive vehicle checking operation with the help of the police force. During investigation, Madhya Pradesh number 12 chakka truck coming from UP side was signaled to stop near Teetra turn of Jiradei police station area, but the driver did not stop the vehicle and tried to run away.

The police force, showing promptness, chased the truck at a short distance and caught the truck with two smugglers. However, before this the driver threw his mobile somewhere. In which two smugglers from Rajasthan were arrested.
