Jagran Correspondent, Dehradun: Police has issued a look out circular against builder Shashwat Garg, wife Sakshi and Shashwat's father Praveen Garg, who absconded after embezzling crores of rupees from investors and taking fraudulent bank loans in the Arcadia Hilux project located at Mussoorie Road.
SSP Ajay Singh said that the passports of the three accused have already been canceled in the case. Rajpur Police and Special Operation Group have been deployed to search for the accused. Some evidence has been found that the accused have fled to Nepal, hence contact has been made there also.
Builder Shashwat Garg is missing since October 17 along with his wife Sakshi, son Ridwan, father Praveen Garg and mother Anjali. The Garg family was last seen at the house of Shashwat's brother-in-law Sulabh Goyal in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. Shashwat Garg, along with wife Sakshi and other family members, had started work on two residential projects in Dehradun.
In which one project is named Arcadia Hilux (Group Housing) on Mussoorie Road and the other project is named Imperial Valley (Planted Development in Thano). After the builder went missing, individuals who had invested in Imperial Valley had lodged a complaint with the regional passport office.
In view of the possibility of the Garg family fleeing abroad, a demand was made to ban the passport. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Regional Passport Officer Vijay Shankar Pandey had canceled the passports of Shashwat, Sakshi and Shashwat's father Praveen Garg on 27 November.
Police is investigating, RERA has imposed a ban
Police have already registered a case against the Garg family along with their two relatives and some banks and financial institutions on complaints of irregularities in allotment of more than 21 flats in the Arcadia Hilux Group Housing Project.
SSP Ajay Singh said that on the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case against Shashwat Garg and others under sections related to cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy.
After the case was registered, the police immediately started investigation and the facts revealed along with the available documents were thoroughly investigated. The search for the accused is ongoing. At the same time, RERA has also banned buying and selling in the Imperial Valley project on the complaint of an investor.
Now there is a ban on going abroad
The report was sent to the Bureau of Immigration on 26 November through SSP Ajay Singh. The Bureau of Immigration under the Home Ministry has issued a lookout circular against the three accused Shashwat, Sakshi and Praveen Garg. Due to this, there is a complete ban on the accused going abroad.
