Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is an important scheme of the Central Government, under which permanent houses are provided to poor and needy families. Residence verification is an important part of this scheme to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach the right beneficiaries. If illegal recovery is made in this process, it gives a deep blow to the image of the scheme.
On this matter, Ghailadh Block Development Officer (BDO) Avinash Kumar said that he has received information about the viral video. He clarified that the process of housing verification under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is completely free. It is completely wrong and illegal to ask for money from any beneficiary. BDO also said that after investigation, if any evidence is found against any employee or officer being found guilty, then strict action will be taken against him.
