Digital Desk, Lucknow. The Magh Mela of religious rituals, sacrifice and dedication, organized on the holy Sangam banks of Prayagraj, concluded on Sunday on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. The city of Sangam echoed with the chants of 'Har Har Mahadev' and 'Om Namah Shivay'. In Gorakhpur, Chief Minister Yogi performed Rudrabhishek and Jalabhishek and prayed for the happy life of the people of the state. Shiva devotees were welcomed with shower of flowers in Kashi Vishwanath Dham. The offerings from 63 temples in the country and abroad were offered to Lord Shri Vishweshwar.

More than 22 crore devotees took a dip of faith in Magh Mela. More than 40 lakh devotees took a dip of faith in Triveni on the Mahashivratri bathing festival in Magh Mela in Prayagraj. The number of devotees who reached the 44-day long Magh Mela crossed 22 crores. This is the biggest record of any Magh Mela so far. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was keeping an eye on the organization and preparations of Magh Mela and was also continuously taking news on Mahashivratri.

Chief Minister performed Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva in Gorakhpur. On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri in Gorakhpur, Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath performed Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva in the Shaktipeeth of Gorakhnath temple on Sunday morning and wished the people of the state a healthy, happy, prosperous and peaceful life. The Chief Minister also visited the ancient Mansarovar Temple located in Andhiyari Bagh and the Piteshwarnath Shiv Temple in Bharohia, performed puja and performed Dugdhabhishek-Jalabhishek and prayed for the welfare of the world.

Chants of “Har-Har Mahadev” and “Bol Bam” echoed in Kashi. On Mahashivratri, Kashi was drenched with faith, enthusiasm and spiritual energy. Lakhs of Shiva devotees, bound by the thread of faith, gathered to witness the marriage ceremony of Lord Bholenath. Devotees devotedly offered Belpatra, Ganga water and milk to Baba. Kashi echoed with the chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bol Bam”. Gifts for Shri Vishweshwar came from a total of 63 temples in the country and abroad. This gift was offered in the midday Bhog Aarti of Lord Shri Vishweshwar and distributed among the devotees. By 6 pm, more than 5,20,000 devotees attended Baba's court.

There was an influx of Shiva devotees in Ramnagari. On the occasion of Mahashivratri, a huge crowd of lakhs of devotees gathered in Ayodhya. Shiva devotees thronged the ancient Nageshwar Nath temple and other major Shiva temples including Kshireshwar Nath temple. During this period, for the safety of the devotees, the entire Ayodhya Dham was divided into five zones and 12 sectors. Additional police forces were deployed in each zone and sector.
