Dialogue partner, Lonnie. On Wednesday, villagers of Mirpur Hindu and other villages along with BKU workers held a panchayat to protest against the Solid Waste Management Plant. The villagers in the Panchayat have unanimously decided to hold a Mahapanchayat at the protest site on March 1. BKU officials talked about the arrival of national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait in the Mahapanchayat.
The villagers of nearby villages, including Mirpur Hindus, have been protesting at the temple located in the village for about one and a half months in protest against the decision to dispose the garbage of the Municipal Corporation area in the Solid Waste Management Plant being built by the government at a distance of half a kilometer from Mirpur Hindu village of Tronica City.
Let us tell you that on Sunday, the villagers had broken the lock of the gate of the plant to stop the work of the machine being installed in the plant. After which there was a clash between the farmers and the police. Corporation sanitation inspector had filed a case against 150 male and female villagers. BKU officer Praveen Malik said that information about the incident was given to BKU national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait.
In the Panchayat held with the villagers and farmers, it was unanimously decided to hold a Mahapanchayat on March 1 at the protest site. He told that the party's national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait will participate in the Mahapanchayat. Meanwhile, BKU worker Billu Pradhan said that the strike has been supported by Congress and other parties.
