Worker dies due to falling of machine. photo awakening
Dialogue partner, Gharaunda. A 32-year-old laborer died after being buried under the machine in the blanket factory located in Barsat village. Surendra used to work in the factory to empty the vehicles loaded with wood. At the time of the incident he was helping to reverse a vehicle.
At the same time, a heavy machine kept on the raised ground nearby became unbalanced and fell on him due to the vibration and pressure caused by the passing of the vehicle. Several laborers together somehow lifted the machine and took Surendra out, but by then his breathing had stopped.
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and the body was sent to Kalpana Chawla Medical College for post-mortem. Surendra was the father of three daughters, out of which the age of the eldest daughter is said to be around nine years. His family also includes his wife, mother and a younger married brother.
The entire responsibility of the house was on the shoulders of Surendra and he used to support the family by working as a daily wage labourer. The relatives allege that the accident happened due to serious negligence of the factory management. They say that the machine was kept unsafely near the wall and safety standards were ignored.
Sarpanch Naveen Rana said that the financial condition of the family is very pathetic. Even the roof of Surendra's house is not complete. Construction of the house is going on under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, but till now only one installment has been received.
Police investigating officer ASI Praveen Kumar said that in the preliminary investigation, the cause of death has come to light as being buried under the machine. The statements of the relatives are being recorded and further legal action will be taken on their basis.
