Jagran correspondent, Ranchi. A major aircraft accident was averted on Friday night at Bhagwan Birsa Munda Airport in the capital Ranchi. IndiGo flight number 6E-7361 had to make a hard landing due to technical reasons during landing.

The sudden strong shock caused panic among the passengers on board the plane for some time, however, due to the pilot's wisdom and quick decision, all 69 passengers remained completely safe and no one was reported injured. Airport Director Vinod Kumar said that the plane reached Birsa Munda Airport at around 8:30 pm, behind schedule.

Some technical glitches occurred during the landing, due to which the pilot had to take the decision of a precautionary hard landing. Despite the hard landing, there was little damage to the aircraft's exterior, especially the rear. Passengers heaved a sigh of relief after the plane connected with the apron ramp.

According to Airport Authority officials, in some circumstances hard landing has to be done keeping safety in mind. In this incident, technical damage has come to light in the tail point of the aircraft, the work of repairing which is being done by the team of engineers. At the same time, Indigo Airlines has also started investigation from its level as to why the hard landing situation occurred. As a precautionary measure, the runway was checked on Saturday, in which there was no damage to the runway. However, some flights were delayed after the incident, but flights on the Ranchi-Bhubaneswar sector are now operating normally. It is noteworthy that the same plane was to depart from Ranchi to Bhubaneswar on Friday night, but the plane could not take off due to damage to the tail point of the plane. Due to this, the flight was canceled and many passengers were sent to Bhubaneswar by car under alternative arrangements.
