Rajdhani Express collides with elephants
Digital Desk, New Delhi. A tragic accident took place in Assam's Lumding division on Saturday morning, where the Sairang-New Delhi Rajdhani Express collided with a herd of wild elephants. The collision was so strong that the engine and five coaches of the train derailed. It is being told that there were about 8 elephants in this herd, out of which many died.
It is a matter of relief that no passenger was injured in this accident. At present, due to this accident, railway services in Upper Assam and North-East have been disrupted. Railways has started rescue operations and the process is underway to ensure onward travel by making alternative arrangements for the passengers.
