But the reality is beyond this. There is no traffic jam for hours in Manali. There is problem of traffic jam at some places, that too for some time.
Problem of traffic jam persists at three points
Due to the arrival of large number of tourists on weekends, there is a problem of traffic jam at three places. You may have to face traffic jams in Manali Aleu, Manali Rangdi and Manali Bahang.
This is why there is jam in Simsa Chowk
The damaged road at Simsa Chowk between Manali and Rangri is causing traffic jam. In the morning, there is traffic jam for some time due to luxury buses coming from Delhi, school buses and tourist vehicles going from Simsa towards Rohtang.
One way traffic causes jam in Aleu
The road near Aleu on Manali Naggar road is still ready for one-way vehicles only, while the road construction work is going on for two-way vehicles. Due to the road being one-way for vehicles, there is traffic jam for some time in the morning and evening.
Road damaged due to Beas flood in Bahang
Road construction work of BRO is also going on in Manali Bahang. At this place also the flood of Beas river had damaged the road.
What does DSP say on road jam?
DSP Manali KD Sharma says that the traffic system is smooth in all the nearby tourist places including Manali city. There is some light traffic jam in the morning and evening. Police personnel will be deployed at various places during Christmas and New Year. Drivers are requested not to park their vehicles haphazardly on the roadside, so that the traffic system can be maintained smoothly.

SDM Raman Sharma says that tourists are welcome in Manali. To make the Christmas and New Year evening memorable for the tourists, the administration has made arrangements for DJ at Mall Road Manali. Mall Road is also being decorated.
DJ will play for tourists on Mall Road
The work of decorating Mall Road has started. Manali administration is making special arrangements for DJ in Mall Road. A stage is being built in Mall Road. Local folk singers will also create fun and entertain the tourists. Tourists will also make a lot of noise here during Christmas and New Year. Top level hoteliers including the Tourism Corporation are also busy in making the Christmas and New Year evenings memorable for the tourists in their hotels.
