Digital Desk, New Delhi. African American singer Mary Milben described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the most influential and important leader in geopolitics at the moment. He praised his handling of the summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in New Delhi and urged Washington to change its approach towards India.
Milben said the Modi-Putin talks reflected the deep alliance between the two countries and should be seen in the broader context of India's growing global role. It is also similar in terms of the deep roots and alliance between the US and India.
He highly praised Modi's diplomatic style. He said that PM Modi showed great strategic wisdom on sensitive matters like energy and defense cooperation. He said Putin's priority was to advance oil and defense cooperation, while Modi talked about every issue keeping national interest at the center. Modi's stature has brought him to the center of global politics today.
Milben, who has close ties to President Donald Trump and his team, has sharply criticized the Trump administration's recent stance towards New Delhi. He said that the attitude towards India in terms of trade has been very aggressive. Even a threatening attitude has been adopted.
He said, “India is our friend, our oldest and strongest democratic partner. My advice is that Donald Trump should invite PM Modi for an official visit to Washington. Sit together, apologize and improve relations.
Such a move would strengthen US interests, particularly in Russia-Ukraine peace efforts. He said that Prime Minister Modi is the only leader who can truly become a mediator.
