Jagran correspondent, Kasganj. The mass death of five people in Kasganj created a sensation. The bodies of 50-year-old welding mechanic Satyaveer (Shyamveer), his wife Ramshree (46), two daughters Prachi (14) and Akanksha (12) and son Girish (10), living on Etah Road in Amanpur, Kasganj, were found inside their house.
According to UP Police, the doors of the house were locked from inside and no evidence of forced entry of any outsider was found at the spot. Satyaveer's body was found hanging, while the bodies of others were lying on the floor.
Aligarh DIG Prabhakar Chaudhary said that we have received information about the death of five people here, which include a man, his wife and their three children. The crime scene appeared to be a case of suicide as the lock was locked from inside and no sign of forced entry was found.
He said that expert opinion will be given after the post-mortem. Conversations with people revealed that financial constraints could be the reason for this incident. His family members have been contacted. Further action is underway.
The incident came to light when a person from the city reached their house to give a wedding card. The gate of the house was closed from inside. There was no response when I called.
On suspicion, noise was raised, after which people gathered nearby. The police arrived on information and broke the gate and entered inside. Inside, the bodies of Satyaveer and Ramshree were hanging, while the bodies of the children were lying on the ground.
