Mumbai got its second win

On the basis of captain Harmanpreet Kaur's brilliant half-century, Mumbai Indians on Monday stopped Gujarat Giants from scoring a hat-trick of wins in the Women's Premier League-2026. Mumbai defeated Gujarat by seven wickets. Batting first, Gujarat scored 192 runs losing five wickets. Mumbai achieved this target by losing three wickets in 19.2 overs.

Gujarat had made a strong score by adding 39 runs in the last two overs but it proved to be less in front of Mumbai. Gujarat had scored 16 runs in the 19th over and 23 runs in the last over. For that, in the last overs, Bharti Phoolmali played an unbeaten inning of 36 runs in 15 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes. Georgia Wareham scored 43 not out off 33 balls. This batsman hit four fours and one six in his innings. The hard work of both of them was ruined by Harmanpreet Kaur's unbeaten inning of 71 runs. The Mumbai captain played 43 balls, out of which seven fours and two sixes were hit.

Bad start for Mumbai

Mumbai needed a stormy start in front of this score, which it did not get. G Kamalini became the victim of Renuka Singh on the fifth ball of the third over. He scored 13 runs on 12 balls. Earlier, Beth Mooney and Kanika Ahuja batted stormily for Gujarat, after which the team managed to score 67 runs at the loss of one wicket in the powerplay. The team lost its first wicket in the form of Sophie Devine on the fourth ball of the third over at a total score of 22. Then Kanika and Moony scored runs quickly.
