Jagran correspondent, Rajouri. A private bus met with an accident in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. 11 people were seriously injured in this accident, including an eight-day-old newborn baby.
According to the information, this accident happened in Muradpur Bathuni area, when a passenger mini bus was going from Rajouri towards Dungi Keri. The accident created chaos in the area, while relief work was started immediately due to the promptness of the local people. It is being told that due to unknown reasons, the bus driver lost his balance in Muradpur Bathuni area, due to which the vehicle met with an accident.
After the accident, hearing the screams of the passengers, local people and rescue teams reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. With the help of local people, all the injured were immediately rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Rajouri, where they are undergoing treatment.
According to hospital sources, the condition of some of the injured is being specially monitored by doctors. Special care is being taken to seriously injured passengers including newborn babies.
As soon as information about the accident was received, the police also reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Taking cognizance of the accident, the police have registered a case and started investigation. In the preliminary investigation, road conditions, technical condition of the vehicle and the role of the driver are being examined, so that the exact cause of the accident can be ascertained.
Local people have demanded the administration to increase security measures on this route and ensure regular checking of passenger vehicles, so that such incidents can be prevented in future. The administration has assured that necessary steps will be taken after the completion of the investigation. This accident once again underlines the need for road safety and vigilant monitoring of passenger vehicles in hilly areas.
