Jagran correspondent, Meerut. Bangladesh player Mustafizur Rahman will not be able to be a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 starting from March 26. Former BJP MLA Sangeet Som thanked the Indian government after BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia directed film actor Shahrukh Khan's team 'Kolkata Knight Riders' to release the Bangladeshi fast bowler. Said that BCCI has taken this decision keeping in mind the sentiments of Sanatanis. This decision is a victory for crores of Sanatanis. In fact, Sangeet Som had opposed the participation of the Bangladeshi cricketer and termed it inappropriate.
Sangeet Som had targeted Shahrukh Khan
On Wednesday, in a program organized at Sumitra Farm House in Daurala, Meerut, Sangeet Som had expressed a sharp reaction and said that on one hand, Hindus are being persecuted in Bangladesh, on the other hand, Shahrukh Khan is buying Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman for his Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 9.20 crore. Taking aim at Khan, he even called him a traitor.

He condemned the opposition statements expressing concern over the situation of Hindus in Bangladesh. After this statement of Sangeet Som, political activities had intensified.
