Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. During the winter season, the terror of thieves has increased on the Muzaffarpur-Kolkata, Muzaffarpur-Chhapra-Siwan railway routes. Every day some passengers are falling victim to this. Thieves committed a gruesome theft in Mithilanchal Express and escaped after alighting near Hathidah station. The passenger's mobile was also taken away.
GRP received information about the incident in time. The mobile remained switched on for five-six hours, its location was told to be in Hathidah area, yet the criminal was not caught. Both the passengers have lodged an FIR in Darbhanga GRP. Railway SP Veena Kumari said that an FIR is being lodged and sent to Hathidah GRP.
Here Hathidah GRP Police Station Head said that the location of the mobile was found in Diyar area towards the river in Hathidah, but it was not caught. It was also said that it would be between Lakhisarai-Kiul. When the traveler woke up in Hathidah, he realized that his luggage was missing. Even after finding the location of the mobile in Hathidah, the GRP police station chief is not considering it as an incident in his area.
Passenger Rani Kumari is a resident of Bhahama village of Pupri police station area of Sitamarhi district. Was going to village with relatives in 13155 Mithilanchal Express from Kolkata in AC-2 at seats 45, 46, 47, 48.
Dr. Sohail of Saraiya, Darbhanga told that the thief ran away after pulling all the items under the berth. He lives in Kolkata, the village is in Saraiya of Darbhanga. Theft incident took place in Sadbhavna Express also
In the last fortnight, miscreants have carried out two separate incidents of theft in Sadbhavna Express. On December 11, while traveling in AC-2 of Sadbhavana Express from Raxaul to Anand Vihar Delhi, Preeti Khemka's iPhone was stolen along with diamond studded jewelery worth more than Rs 15 lakh. She is a resident of Varanasi. She was going from Muzaffarpur to Varanasi.
Meanwhile, the miscreant stole his bag between Hajipur and Sonpur and ran away with it. Later, GRP recovered the iPhone thrown in the bush near Shitalpur station. No one has been arrested yet.
Here again on Saturday, the luggage of Prabhat Kumar Kushwaha, who was traveling in B-4 of the same train, was stolen between Muzaffarpur-Chhapra. When I complained on 139, I got a call from RPF asking me to go to Ghazipur and file an FIR. He complained to the Railway Minister. Meanwhile his case was closed.
