Traffic will start from Chandwara bridge next year. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. The much awaited Chandwara bridge will now start traffic from March next year. The deadline was earlier set for December, but the work was delayed due to elections and workplace disputes. For this reason this deadline also seems to be failing.
Because under the first phase, the work of filling soil for the construction of approach road is going on. Although it is in the final stages, it may take a month to complete. After this the road construction work will be started.
Alok Kumar, project director of the bridge construction department, said that the work is being done there at a fast pace. There is a possibility that traffic will be fully operational by March. However, bike riders are still traveling comfortably. There is no problem in this. Earth filling work is in the final stage. It will be completed soon. This work is being monitored continuously and regularly.
It may be noted that about 13 deadlines for starting traffic from Chandwara bridge have been failed. Approval for its construction was received in the year 2015. Work started several years later. The bridge was completed in the year 2018-19 itself, but due to disputes in land acquisition and other reasons, the construction of the approach road was delayed.
DM had given instructions to complete the work quickly after inspection
Recently DM Subrata Kumar Sen had also inspected the workplace. During this, he had instructed the bridge construction department to complete the work expeditiously. Along with this, he was also asked to start work under phase two. Only then will this bridge be connected to Darbhanga NH.
This bridge was built with this very purpose. Under phase two, a 2.90 km long approach road is being built from Jail Chowk to Sipahpur. Public hearing has been done for this.
It is being executed after receiving objections from the tenants. Under this, acquisition work is being done in five Mauzas Saraiya Chakmustafa alias Sipahpur, Harpur, Damodarpur, Bhagwatipur and Chakmohabbat.
