Meritorious students of Scheduled Caste will get a cash award of Rs 1.11 lakh.
State Bureau, Chandigarh. The BJP government of Haryana has decided to give cash awards to meritorious students of Scheduled Caste (SC) category to encourage them. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Nayab Saini, a cash award of Rs 1 lakh 11 thousand will be given to the Scheduled Caste students who score 90 percent or more marks in the class 12th examination in the academic session 2024-25.
The Directorate of School Education has given instructions to all the District Education Officers that this incentive amount will be given to those students who have brought glory to the state by performing well in the board exams. All the District Education Officers have been instructed to send the details of eligible students related to their respective districts to the Directorate as per the prescribed proforma.
It has been clarified by the Directorate of School Education that while preparing the data, the name of the students, roll number, marks obtained, percentage and bank details should be completely correct and clear, so that there can be no error in the distribution of funds.
Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda clarified that this scheme will not only provide financial assistance to Scheduled Caste students but will also motivate them for hard work and excellence. This decision of the government is an important step towards social equality and quality education. This announcement will not only provide financial support to thousands of meritorious students across the state, but will also boost the morale of the students, which will motivate them for higher education.
Displeasure over free uniform allowance not being released on time
The Education Department has expressed displeasure over the non-updation of data of students of 2025-26 under the Free Uniform Scheme. Instructions have been given by the Education Department to update the data of pending students on the One School App portal. In the letter sent by the Directorate to all the District Basic Education Officers, it has been clearly stated that the students whose bank account number, bank name, IFSC code and PPP-ID are incomplete or incorrect should be corrected immediately, so that the benefit of uniform can be sent directly to their bank account.
The Education Department has said that the profiles of many students were found incomplete, due to which the amount could not be released through DBT despite repeated instructions from the department. In some cases, the amount was returned due to account closure/blocking or incorrect bank details, due to which students could not get the benefit of uniform on time.
