Giving a significant boost to the India-Brazil strategic partnership, President Draupadi Murmu hosted a grand state banquet at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in honor of visiting President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. In this program Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were also present, reflecting the deep diplomatic ties between the two major democracies.

President Murmu appreciated the contribution of President Lula in the 'AI Impact Summit'. Also, he congratulated Brazil for its successful hosting of the BRICS and COP-30 summits last year.

The President underlined that Brazil is India's largest trading partner in Latin America. He expressed India's desire to expand its preferential trade agreement with Mercosur.

The meeting expressed satisfaction over the continuous progress being made in important sectors such as defence, space, digital cooperation, cyber security, oil and gas, and bio-fuels.

The visit is considered a major step towards taking the strategic partnership between India and Brazil to new heights, which will strengthen the common interests of both the countries in trade and investment as well as on global platforms.
